As a custom carved engagement ring specialist, one of the very first high-end jewelry designer product lines that I was introduced to was Scott Kay engagement rings.
Not having personally dealt with the product line myself, I would have a few clients a week come in requesting rings by this designer. So I did what I would always do when I was in that business on the retail store level, and that was to find the nearest local retailer of these pieces. A bit of research online led me to a local competitor who I was pretty good aquaintances with. So I went in to his shop and looked at the rings for the first time. The craftsmanship in terms of diamond setting and hand engraving as well as final polish on the gold and platinum was remarkable.
From the main diamond at the very top of the ring, to the smallest graduated little diamonds running down the sides of the ring shank, everything was set 100% straight and flush as I would like to see it in my own pieces. I was very fussy about fine details (I still am
